Quinta dos Agostos

Os Agostos is the name given to the houses on the 3ha of farmland and to the area itself. It comprises two dwelling units and an olive press house. The main dwelling unit dates possibly from the Eighteenth Century and reveals the typical square structured building around a traditional patio.

The Patio is the typical leisure area, shaded and coloured by a vine tree and  bouganvillia.  A restfull area ideal for guests daily meals

 The Barn...

The area adjoining the chapel included a sacristy. The barn and sacristy have been transformed into a comfortable living room.

The Cellar...

The barn leads into a large room, formerly the wine cellar, which is now used as a cocktail lounge or dining room. The cellar has maintained its original features such as the wooden ceiling, an example of the construction system at the time it was built.

The Stables...

The stables are undoubtedly one of the most interesting and characteristic areas of the property, largely due to the system of construction used for the ceiling. A dome was built, an inventive method of construction, which was registered and published by a team in the Algarve in the late 1950s, in the publication “Popular Architecture of the Algarve”.

 The Chapel...

The chapel was built under the supervision of the owner Antonio Mendes Pinto at the beginning of last century. After permission was granted by the bishop, on condition of a public mass being celebrated every last Sunday of every month, the chapel was finally erected in honour of Our Lady of Conceição. The interior is simple and unadorned. Above the main altar is the image of the patroness saint.

The Pool...

In the transition from gardens to the orange grove, you can find the pool with a crystal blue water, where you can enjoy excellent moments of leisure and freshness.

The Gardens...

The main household opens out to the lawn gardens in three descending levels leading on  to the romantic pool in water fall. The calm emanating invites you to rest and relaxation.
